Munics Information Systems, Inc. announces a new module for Multi-Carrier Shipping Systems April 3, 2000 Clifton, NJ - Business Partners create the ultimate in Integrated Multi-Carrier Shipping Systems. Munics Information Systems and Evcor Distribution Plus have formed a business relationship that enables our two great software products to work together, thus creating a fully integrated shipping system with UPS and additional carriers, within your distribution system. The Next Generation Distribution Software works seamlessly with Evcor's Clippership shipping system utilizing "screen scraping" techniques. The Evcor Shipping System is a series of integrated management modules that have been designed to run under the Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000 or NT workstation operating system. The Evcor Shipping System modules include Clippership, Labeling, Customization (TracerX), and Host Interface. Each module also includes the capability to extend the wide range of basic features inherent in each module to customize the system to your exact needs. The Evcor Shipping System includes bar-code reading and printing capability to provide fast, efficient, error-free, shipping, and data transfer. Next Generation's shipping interface module (SSFMI) was written specifically to interface in a REAL TIME environment with the Clippership product. Here's how it works. The user calls up the Next Generation shipping confirmation program from a networked PC located in the shipping area. Once the order is picked, the box(es) is placed on the scale and the order number is scanned (or entered) into our shipping confirmation program. Information about that order is displayed on the user screen. The user then enters the total number of boxes to be shipped and presses the plus sign (+) key. The system automatically transfers all related information to the Clippership system. The Clippership system senses the weight, looks up the charges, saves the shipping information for the manifest, produces the shipping labels and records the tracking number. This process is followed for all cartons that are to be shipped for this order. At the end of this order, the operator presses the asterisk (*) key. The system automatically returns relevant information back to the Next Generation® software. The operator would then complete the shipping confirmation process on the Next Generation® system as they normally do. Some of the key advantages to this process are: the ability to have multiple rate tables per carrier and the ability to reconcile your freight bills accurately while also making sure your system is correctly billing your customers for freight related charges. Tracking numbers and freight amounts are returned to the Next Generation® Software and are stored in our database. Your Customer Service group will have the tracking numbers right at their fingertips when using our CS program. Clippership also comes with a run time version of the R&R Report Writer. This powerful tool gives you the ability to handle the data inside Clippership and produce just about any shipping related report imaginable. In addition to that, Clippership and TracerX databases are viewable in Excel. This feature really gives you an added ability to produce reports and perform analysis. Rate updates are simple file replacements. There is no need to do complete version upgrades, like other systems, that can result in loss of data and configurations. Clippership also provides the ability to build in carriers. Clippership is able to print labels, calculate rates, produce a manifest, and even send an EDI file to the local carriers. Clippership handles multiple commercial carriers such as UPS, FedEx, RPS, Airborne, DHL, and US Mail. The Clippership system also provides rate calculations, manifesting, compliance labeling, reports, carrier EDI, rate shopping and a wide range of additional features including selecting the least expensive or preferred carrier.
